HydraFacial® is a device-based facial that cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin in a single appointment. A handpiece moves across the skin, lifting away dead surface cells and the contents of congested pores while delivering a serum at the same time.
It is one of the gentler treatments we offer, and it does not break the skin. Most people have it as regular skin maintenance rather than as a one-off, and it is often used before an event because the skin usually settles quickly afterwards.

The treatment runs through a set sequence. The skin is cleansed and gently exfoliated, a mild solution is applied to loosen the contents of blocked pores, those contents are drawn out by suction through the handpiece, and a hydrating serum is delivered into the skin as the handpiece passes over it. A typical appointment takes around 30 to 45 minutes.
HydraFacial works at the surface of the skin. It suits congestion, dryness, dullness and general upkeep, and many people find their skin looks fresher and feels smoother afterwards. It does not reach the deeper layers, so it will not do the work of a peel, a laser or a needling treatment on pigmentation, scarring or lines. Where those are your concern, we will say so and talk through the treatments that address them.
There is little to no downtime. Some people notice mild redness or warmth that settles within a few hours, and skin that is sensitive or reactive can take slightly longer. You can normally wear makeup the same day, and we will give you aftercare advice before you leave.
HydraFacial suits most skin types and most ages, including skin that does not tolerate stronger treatments well. It is not appropriate over active acne breakouts, broken or irritated skin, active cold sores, or sunburn, and some skin conditions need a different approach. Your skin is assessed before the treatment begins.
Many people have a HydraFacial every four to six weeks as ongoing maintenance, and others have one occasionally before an event. There is no requirement to commit to a course. What suits your skin is discussed at your appointment.

No part of the treatment breaks the skin. Most people describe the suction as a light pulling or tugging sensation across the face, and some find the exfoliation step mildly prickly. Tell your therapist if anything feels uncomfortable and the settings can be adjusted.
Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people book it. Any redness usually settles within a few hours. If it is your first HydraFacial, book it a few days ahead rather than the morning of, so there is room for your skin to settle.
Every four to six weeks suits most people. More often than that is rarely needed, and your therapist will tell you if your skin would do better with a longer gap.
It can help with congestion and blackheads, and it is not a treatment for active or inflamed acne. Acne needs a proper assessment and usually a different plan. Our doctor can talk you through the options.
