Laser Liposuction

Laser Liposuction

Goals to achieve that summer body year in year out can be daunting. At Verve, Dr Alia Nasser offers laser liposuction and tumescent liposculpture to permanently remove fat cells by precisely targeting stubborn areas that don’t seem to budge. The way our bodies distribute fat is determined by an individual’s lifestyle as well as genetics.

What’s involved?

Liposuction is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures as refined techniques over the years have made this procedure lower-risk and less painful. The surgery often takes between one and four hours. Sedation and local anaesthetic are used for large, or multiple areas being treated on the body.

Treatment options

One of the most traditional methods is tumescent liposculpture, which re-shapes the body by removing (and sometimes adding) the right amounts of fat to become more proportionate. This is done by injecting a large amount of a medicated solution into the fatty tissue, which softens fat cells and reduces blood loss to allow for the fat to be more easily extracted. A small incision is made under the skin where a cannula is inserted to suction the fat cells into a vacuum device.

Laser liposuction, is a targeted method that uses light energy to heat and melt fat from the bottom internal layer up, which is removed from the body through a cannula and then through the vacuum device. The laser energy process also heats up collagen fibres to stimulate new collagen production, which results in smooth and taut skin.

When will result show?

Results are noticeable immediately after the surgery, where over the next few weeks the improvement in body contour will continue as the swelling goes down. Allow for six weeks to three months, to see the full effects of the surgery.

Are you a candidate?

Ideally, being near, or at your ideal weight but are tired of trying to remove stubborn fat deposits. The best candidates for these procedures are men or women in good health who exercise regularly and eat healthy, looking to improve their silhouette.

Having good skin elasticity makes liposuction work better, where by healthy skin adheres to the natural contours of your body. If you have undergone an extreme weight loss with excess skin, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), or other body contouring surgeries can be combined to have the confidence to flaunt that new body at the beach this summer.
