IPL Photorejuvenation Sydney

With IPL Photorejuvenation, you can now have healthier and more youthful looking skin without disrupting the skins surface. At Verve Cosmetic Clinic, our IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment will reduce overall discolouration of the skin and even out the skin tone.

Out staff are trained in the most advanced systems for IPL Rejuvenation. The Intense Pulse Light (IPL) system delivers the precise amount of light energy to the skin, which means that collagen production is stimulated while causing blood vessels under the skin to contract. This is a treatment that is used to treat a variety of benign skin conditions, such as photo damage, broken capillaries, pigmentation or other blemishes.

In addition, IPL Rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that can be tailored to meet the patient’s particular needs.

What Happens during the IPL Rejuvenation Procedure?

Before treatment begins, the eyes will be covered with protective glasses. This will stop the light from damaging the eyes during treatment. The chilled tip of the handpiece for IPL Rejuvenation is placed onto the skin and the light is pulsed. This will begin the process of stimulating collagen and breaking down the blood vessels to be absorbed by the body naturally. The treatment takes about 20 minutes per treatment area, which means that patients do not have to spend much time in the clinic.

Does the IPL Skin Rejuvenation Procedure Hurt?

IPL Rejuvenation should not hurt the patient nor make you feel uncomfortable during the procedure. This mean that patients should feel at ease when they are at the clinic. The chilled tip eliminates the need for a topical anaesthetic to be used and reduces the risk of overheating the surrounding skin and damaging it. Some patients do describe feeling a slight sting in some parts of the skin, such as snapping a rubber band against it. But, this is only minor.

Are there any Side Effects from the IPL Rejuvenation Procedure?

There are minimal side effects associated with IPL Rejuvenation. You may experience a slight redness of the skin, as well as minor swelling. But, this will subside within a few days. You can apply makeup if you would rather hide these side effects. If there is bruising, this will fade within one week.

After the first treatment, you will notice a smoothing of your skin’s texture and diminished flushing. With several treatments, optimal results will be achieved. If you have age spots, they may look darker for a number of days after treatment. But, this will fade and clear after a few treatment sessions.

Is there any Downtime Associated with the IPL Rejuvenation Procedure?

There is no downtime associated with IPL Skin Rejuvenation. Patients will be able to resume normal activities immediately after the treatment. There is no need to take time off for this procedure and sessions are simple and quick. By dividing the treatments into a series, gradual improvement will be seen with minimal risk.

Who are Suitable Candidates for the IPL Photorejuvenation Procedure?

IPL Skin PhotoRejuvenation is suitable for treating sun spots, age spots and discolouration on the skin. This can be on parts of the body such as the chest, neck, hands and face. In addition, this treatment can be used to diminish redness on the skin, such as rosacea and broken blood vessels.

The IPL treatments are recommended in a series of four to six sessions, after which a maintenance schedule can be used to maintain the results, depending on the condition of the skin and severity of the problem.
